Jeff Perkins Bio
|
A former High School Marching Band Tubaist, Jeff has a passion for jazz, a love for classic rock, and a fondness of new country. This, along with his past musical experiences, makes Jeff's bass playing very unique. One with passion, drive, variety, and tastefulness; but also at times a flashiness that makes one think it would have put a smile on the face of the late Jaco Pastorious.Jeff got his first bass guitar rig from a mail order catalog when he was in his late teens. It didn't take him very long to become one of the finest in the Bracken/Mason County, KY area and performing in various clubs and bars. In the early 1980's Jeff became a member of the band Southwind. This band also featured future Inside/Out Band guitarist Eddie Groves. After Southwind, Jeff went on to various other bands including: 2nd Time Around, Flashback, Winner, & The Joe Martin's Hosey's House Band. All the while Jeff was not only honeing his skills on the Bass in these groups, but he was also developing into one of the finest vocalist you will hear. In 1992, Jeff and Eddie, along with drummer Scott Marye decided to form Inside/Out.Inside/Out gave Jeff the opportunity to tour and perform in various countries around the world. But in 2003, Jeff decided to leave Inside out to persue other musical interests.
